We say farewell to the 6th camp of the summer, our Junior High #3 campers.
This week has been marked by incredible sickness for myself and incredible rest. I came back from my three days off with a tough head cold that seemed to be settling in for the long haul. Luckily it has only last for about two weeks and is subsiding now.
It seems that every week that goes by, I always learn more and more about what happens. It’s hard to try and capture an event that is a week long with hundreds of different activities and 600+ people. But I’ve always been amazed at how looking different at a situation will give you a great new perspective on how things work.
Even realizing that we work our butts off for nine weeks to simply watch all the campers go home at the end of each week. Is it really worth it? Is it worth pouring your heart out for a week just to let it get broken as the campers head home? Dang straight it is! We pour our hearts out to these campers in order to show them that they are valuable and have a purposeful life.
If you look back at your years, has anyone poured their life into yours so that you may become a better person, even though they knew that could get hurt by you? Was it worth it? Did it change your life? Now you’re starting to understand. Share the love, share your joy.
