Biography

I grew up on the prairies of Alberta on a small farm just outside Red Deer. Having grown up on a farm, I spent my hours playing around outside, exploring, adventuring and getting into trouble. To this day, I still enjoy being outside, exploring, adventuring and occasionally getting into trouble.

I am now happily married, have two cats and a car with new tires, the dream life. We are both finished our respective Bachelor degrees and seek to make this life, one filled with adventure. Whether that means going to far off places, or reaching out to the local community on the west coast of Canada. We are a team that wants to make a difference.

When we are not at home you can often find us out at the local coffee shops sipping a double short americano.

Youth Worker

The focus of my working with youth is to teach, inspire and motivate adults towards helping and promoting youth needs as a teacher and mentor. It is important to me that youth have a passionate voice speaking towards their needs.

Youth live in a world that marginalizes them as consumers. Their worth is seen in how much and what they consume. Working with youth needs to engage them as creators and a class of people of worth and value. This is done through engaging youth in relationship and seeking to help them understand their strengths and vocation moving forward into adulthood.

I am currently working as the Youth Director at The Meeting Place in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

Photographer

I photograph the world because my heart speaks through this medium. Where words cannot be expressed a photograph tells my heart. I have photographed within different cultures, treaded water in the North Pacific till my legs cramped up, flown down zip-lines, bent over the edge of a ski boat holding my camera inches above the waves and even had water sprayed out of a fire hose at me, all to get the shots I needed.

I continue to shoot for a growing list of organizations that have a similar conviction toward life. They deeply appreciate my heart, work and passion.
